Kimberly Buckmaster (she/they) is an entrepreneur, investor and Valkyrie. She is the co-owner of Castle of Games (board games and comic book store) in Springfield, Oregon. Kim was born with an intersex condition known as Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and due to biology, upbringing, and identity-matching is cis female leaning, non-binary/genderfluid. Kim has been a concert promoter, drag king, rock star, rugby player, priestess, and more. Kim currently enjoys running her business and the hobbies that entails as well as working in her garden, planting trees, learning how to DJ, and sword fighting.


Jae Downing, PhD (they/them) is an Assistant Professor at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Downing is the Principal Investigator for this National Institutes of Health funded project, which aims to understand barriers to access to health care for gender diverse individuals in Oregon’s Medicaid program. They live in Portland with their wife and toddler. Jae enjoys all things outdoors and good coffee.


Hilda Cruz Guiao, MA (they/she) is a mindfulness youth and adult educator with Peace in Schools in Portland, Oregon. Hilda holds a MA in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and has been a high school educator since 2014. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Hilda is second-generation Filipinx American and is an avid outdoors person with a deep love and respect for the natural world.


Alx Kujana (he/him) is an indigenous two-spirit Creative from the Umatilla Indian Reservation who has undergone hormone replacement therapy and is currently navigating the health system for top surgery.

The Oregon Trans & Gender Diverse Health Survey will be used to advocate for better healthcare for our gender diverse community in Oregon. The topics cover everything from demographics and experiences with providers and insurance, to treatment for substance abuse, the impact of COVID-19, and HIV prevention topics. This survey should take about 10 minutes. Any responses you provide are confidential. You will have a chance to win one of 3 cash prizes of $50.
