Ben Brock (he/him) is a trans man who was born in Eugene, OR. He graduated with a BS from PSU—which he mostly uses to contemplate how we can achieve a civilization more closely aligned with Star Trek—and completed a capstone in Sexuality, Gender, and Queer Studies. With over a decade of experience in social media marketing, fundraising, and community relations management, Ben works for local authors, nonprofits, and publishing companies as a freelance writer.
Ben spends his free time volunteering for LGBTQIA+ organizations, writing the queer stories he wished he grew up with, playing RPGs, training for marathons, and bemoaning the fact the world has yet to make a decent gluten free donut.
Kimberly Buckmaster (she/they) is an entrepreneur, investor and Valkyrie. She is the co-owner of Castle of Games (board games and comic book store) in Springfield, Oregon. Kim was born with an intersex condition known as Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and due to biology, upbringing, and identity-matching is cis female leaning, non-binary/genderfluid. Kim has been a concert promoter, drag king, rock star, rugby player, priestess, and more. Kim currently enjoys running her business and the hobbies that entails as well as working in her garden, planting trees, learning how to DJ, and sword fighting.
Jae Downing, PhD (they/them) is an Assistant Professor at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Downing is the Principal Investigator for this National Institutes of Health funded project, which aims to understand barriers to access to health care for gender diverse individuals in Oregon’s Medicaid program. They live in Portland with their wife and toddler. Jae enjoys all things outdoors and good coffee.
HILDA CRUZ GUIAO
Hilda Cruz Guiao, MA (they/she) is a mindfulness youth and adult educator with Peace in Schools in Portland, Oregon. Hilda holds a MA in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and has been a high school educator since 2014. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Hilda is second-generation Filipinx American and is an avid outdoors person with a deep love and respect for the natural world.
Alx Kujana (he/him) is an indigenous two-spirit Creative from the Umatilla Indian Reservation who has undergone hormone replacement therapy and is currently navigating the health system for top surgery.
